There may be a Christian who is serving faithfully for God but does not have true joy in his heart. In all honesty, a believer can experience much sadness, suffering, and loneliness compared to his worldly life. We feel like doubting God and questioning His promise of joy. Then we turn our Father into a liar and dismiss His gift of joy that He has offered to every one of His beloved children. Such faithless people have no idea on what the Lord can do and how much joy He can give to them if they continue their walk with Christ. The issue seems to be that many Christians do not understand the meaning of true joy. Because they keep noticing how television glamorizes the world, how much fun the lost people are having, and how much pleasurable the sin is, the saint deceives himself into thinking that a life of joy is out over there, rather than His sanctified relationship with Jesus. A saved individual should simply forget all the killjoys of life and trust in God's promise of true joy. So the big question is, "What is true joy?"

Ecclesiastes 5:20
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.

  1. Small Remembrance on the Agonies of Life
  2. Sufficient Response on the Answers of Life
  3. Sincere Rejoicing on the Affections of Life
