The Lord desires “that all should come to repentance” (2 Pet 3:9). Satan wants to stop that from happening (Matt 13:19). God wants you to “KNOW that ye have eternal life” (I John 5:13). The Devil wants to steal that knowledge away (John 10:10, Rev 12:10). Christ offers believers life, “and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10), while Satan is busy trying to kill that life (I Pet 5:8). What kind of spirit doubts the perfect saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ?

Is it the Holy Spirit who makes some preachers search for salvation-losing “proof texts” in the Bible?

Salvation is being “born again” (John 3:3), “not of corruptible seed” (physical, fleshly), “but of INCORRUPTIBLE, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever” (I Pet 1:23). A believer’s security will last as long as God’s word does. Christ said it would be eternal (see Matt 24:35).

Sinners are saved by grace through faith, “not of works” (Eph 2:9). Believers “are KEPT by the power of God” (I Pet 1:5), not their own power. They possess “EVERLASTING life” right now (John 5:24), and “are SEALED unto the day of redemption” (Eph 4:30). Christians are safe in Christ’s hands (John 10:27-29), and as members of the Body of Christ they are even PART OF HIS HANDS! (see Eph 5:30). In fact, believers are partially in heaven already (Eph 2:4-6), just waiting for these mortal bodies to be changed (Rom 8:23). And finally, “Being CONFIDENT of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Phil 1:6).
